Date of the Promotion: The USC Credit Union “Chip & Pin for the Win Sweepstakes” (the “Sweepstakes”) starts February 15, 2024 and ends on March 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m (“Sweepstakes Period”) Pacific Standard Time (PST). Winners will be contacted via email or phone by April 12, 2024.

Eligibility:  The Chip & Pin for the Win Sweepstakes is open to individuals who are physically located in and legal permanent residents of the fifty (50) U.S. (including DC), and who have reached the legal age of majority in their state of residence (which is eighteen (18) in most states, but is nineteen (19) in Alabama and Nebraska, and twenty-one (21) in Mississippi) before time/date of entry. Employees, officials, and representatives, including immediate family members and members of the same household, of USC Credit Union (“Sponsor” or “USCCU”), and each of their respective affiliates, distributors, subsidiaries, prize providers, advertising/promotion agencies are not eligible. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited. Participants must accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor.

 

How to Enter: NO ACTUAL PURCHASE OR TRANSACTION IS REQUIRED TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES. There are two (2) methods of entry as follows:

  1. Enter the Sweepstakes using your eligible USCCU debit card. You must complete a minimum of 15 individual purchases, each totaling at least $10, during the Sweepstakes Period to qualify for one (1) automatic entry. After reaching the minimum, each additional purchase of at least $10 will count as an extra entry. Debit card transactions must be pin-based, signature-based, or online purchases. Purchase transactions involving bill payments or recurring subscriptions, account adjustment transactions/returns, late payment fees, overdraft fees, return check fees, check reorder fees, ATM fees, cash advances, monthly/annual fees, balance transfers, and/or other fees assessed on your account are not eligible for automatic Sweepstakes entry. Entries from unauthorized card use or those made with lost, stolen, or fraudulent cards are void.

  2. Enter the Sweepstakes without purchase via U.S. Mail by handing-printing your complete legal name, postal mailing address, city, state, zip code, primary phone number (including area code), and primary email address, along with the words “Entry to the Chip & Pin for the Win Sweepstakes”, on a 3” x 5” card. Mail your entry in a sealed and stamped in a number #10 envelope to: USC Credit Union, ATTN: Chip & Pin Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 512718, Los Angeles, CA 90051-0718. Each mail-in entry will count as one (1) entry to the Sweepstakes. Each mailed entry must be mailed separately and postmarked between February 15, 2024 – March 31, 2024 and received by April 8, 2024. Entries become the property of USCCU and will not be acknowledged or returned. Illegible, incomplete, or inaccurate entry materials will be disqualified. Entrants are responsible for all third-party imposed costs and fees, including the cost of postage. Proof of mailing does not constitute proof of delivery. Participants agree not to hold USCCU, their partners, their employees, and/or their affiliates responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, damaged, postage-due, or illegible entry materials.

 

Opt-Out Process: Entrants who use their debit card during the Sweepstakes Period, but would like to opt-out of the Sweepstakes, send an email to marketing@usccreditunion.org with your opt-out request by April 8, 2024. Include “Opt-Out Request” in the subject line and the name and email associated with your account in your email request. You will be opted out of the prize drawing by sending one email request.

Prize Drawings: A random drawing will be conducted from all eligible automatic and mail-in entries received. Random drawings will be conducted by the USCCU Marketing Department on April 10, 2024 after the Sweepstakes Period has ended and all the mail-in entries have been added to the drawing. In the event the winners selected are based on an eligible debit card transaction entry, the prize will be awarded to the primary account holder associated with the debit card (as determined by Sponsor’s account records). Sponsor shall have no liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted, or not received by the winner for any reason. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, the winners will be declared the official winners of the Sweepstakes.

 

Prizes: Five (5) $500 cash prizes for a total of $2,500 will be awarded. Approximate Total Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,500. The winners will each receive the prize deposit in their USCCU share savings account within five (5) business days of acceptance. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.

 

Odds of Winning and Winner Selection: Odds of winning will vary depending on the number of entries received and will be based on random selection. Winner will be selected by the USCCU Marketing Department using a random entry selection tool on April 10, 2024. One prize per winner. If an individual, is selected as a winner more than once, another winner will be selected.

 

Winner Notification: Winners will be notified via the email address provided in their entry form no later than April 12, 2024. The winner will have until April 26, 2024 to claim their prize or it will be forfeited and another winner will be selected.

 

Liability and General Rules: Entrants agree to hold USC Credit Union (USCCU) and each of its officers, directors, employees, members, representatives and all of its agents harmless from any liability arising from participation in the “Chip & Pin for the Win Sweepstakes” USCCU is not responsible for any negligence, claims, liability, injury, property loss or other damages arising from, or in connection with, acceptance or participation of this campaign. USCCU is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, lost, incomplete, illegible, late, misdirected, stolen, or mutilated entries or other materials or bona fide human processing errors. Further, USCCU is not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, including any which may affect your entry in this campaign. USCCU reserves the right to disqualify entrants who fail to follow these Official Rules and regulations, who tamper with the entry process, or who make any misrepresentations relative to this campaign. USCCU shall have the absolute right to determine if an entry is in compliance with these Official Rules without notice to the person attempting to enter. USCCU reserves the right to suspend or cancel the campaign or modify these Official Rules as necessary for any reason or as required by applicable law. USCCU reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify the campaign, and ban from any future promotions, any person they believe is to have intentionally violated these Official Rules or tampered with any element of the campaign without notice to the disqualified or banned person.

 

Tax Issues: Taxes due on prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. USC Credit Union may report all prizes won to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on Form 1099. USC Credit Union and its Representatives do not provide tax or legal advice. For such advice, please consult with a qualified professional.

 

Release: By entering this campaign, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by these Official Rules and that he or she is not prohibited from participating in the campaign

 

Privacy and Publicity Authorization: By entering, participants consent USCCU and each of its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, franchisees, advertising or promotional agencies, and partners and such entities’ officers, directors, agents, employees, respective successors and assigns (collectively, “Authorized Parties”), the absolute and irrevocable right and permission to use, publish, broadcast and/or likeness, caricature, and personal information, in its current form or as retouched, digitized, cropped, altered, distorted or modified in any way, in any and all advertising and promotional materials based upon or derived there from, (collectively, “Materials”), in any manner, in any media whatsoever for any and all purposes, including by way of example but without limitation advertising, promoting or publicizing products throughout the universe, in perpetuity, and any and all media now known or hereafter devised (including without limitation on the Internet), in conjunction with this or other advertising or promotions without additional compensation. The prize winner will be required to sign and return a publicity release.

 

Participant agrees that the Materials or anything derived from there will be owned solely by the Authorized Parties. Participant shall not authorize the use of the Materials or any print, negative or other copy thereof by anyone other than the Authorized Parties.
